What we believe
WMBC (also known as WEMO) regards the Scripture as its authority in matters of faith and practice. The governance of WMBC is vested in the body of believers who compose it. It is subject to the control of no other ecclesiastical body, but it recognizes and sustains the obligations of mutual counsel and cooperation which are common among Southern Baptist churches. Insofar as it is practical, WMBC will cooperate with and support the Association, the State Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. The church subscribes to the Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000. We believe that marriage is the union of one biological man to one biological woman (Gen. 1:27, Mark 10:6, Matt. 19:4). We do not believe Scripture supports same-sex marriage and therefore will not allow our facilities or staff to participate in such unions (Gen. 2:19-24, Lev. 18:22, Matt. 19:4-6, Rom. 1:18-27, Eph. 5:22·-33, Heb. 13:4).

Locally, we are affiliated with the Mobile Baptist Association, a group of 114 like-minded Baptist churches and missions in Mobile County.
Statewide, we are affiliated with the Alabama State Board of Missions.
Nationally, we are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.
